E1 Gathering

After not meeting for quite sometime, we finally have our E1 outing yesterday. It was quite a good response considering how off my classmates can be at times.

The gathering was at Minds Cafe, a place similar to the Settlers' Cafe. It was quite cool and the games we played are quite interesting and fun. The only not so happy thing is that we were charged for an half hour extention. Maybe the people think that it's rude to disturb people in the middle of the game. But I guess you should have asked us 15 mins in advance whehter we like to extend our time. The last thing you should do is to tell us that our time is up. I don't mind paying the $2 plus extra charge per person. I just don't like the way the system works. It just reflect badly on the shop, abit like cheating money.

Back to the happy topic, the people who went are:


Starting from the person in red-Patrick, leave out the extra in blue (He didn't go. Busy with his gf, I think), followed by the orange guy Hendra and Tat Kuan


The gals- Shaojun, Shuyi and Me

Don't be shocked by the pictures, it was taken donkey years ago. Even before I got into university I think. Shuyi brought along her camera but we didn't take any pics :( Knowing a all word blog will be damn boring, I decided to post up old photos having all of us inside.

Some of the games we played are:
1) Telepathy-played in pairs

Team A lands on a square marked '5' and chooses a card with the word 'animal'. The 2 members will have to write out 5 words associated with animal.

Player 1 writes:
zoo
farm
cow
dog
cat

Player 2 writes:
zoo
moo
noisy
cow
dog

So there are 3 same words and they'll get to move 3 steps and so on.

Winner of this game: Ms Oh and Ms Koh!!!

2) Bohnanza-played individually

Description of the game:
"Bean farming was never so much fun! In Bohnanza, you have two or three bean fields and a handful of bean cards to plant in those fields. With clever trading, you get the cards you want without helping the other players too much. In the end, the player who earns the most gold is the winner!"

Winner of this game: Ms Oh with 19 gold coins!!!

I'm the BIG winner for most of the game. YEAH!!!!

Minds Cafe is celebrating its 1st anniversary this june so there are some promotions going on; spent over $50 and you get to participate in a lucky draw. Being the BIG winner and the lucky person, I got to roll the dice. AND we won the best prize-$10 off the next visit. Wahaa...

Since there's someone asking me about Lancome products, there's one great piece of news to share. There will be free eyebrow trimming with any purchase of Lacome products. But I think you need to book for a slot of eyebrow trimming. It used to cost $15 for eyebrow trimming but it's a free service now. I strongly recommend the Shaw House Isetan branch. It's the best so far. Hee... Never go to the CK Tangs branch....
